      El primer motor de búsqueda del  mundo, Google, agregó audio y video a sus servicios de correo electrónico Gmail: la decisión fue tomada para mejorar el servicio y atraer  usuarios.

      La introducción de nuevos instrumentos apunta a lograr de que  Gmail compita con Skype y otros sistemas de videoconferencia.

      Gmail es el cuarto más popular servicio de correo electrónico  en Estados Unidos, después de Yahoo!, Microsoft y Timer Warner,  pero es el que tiene una tasa de crecimiento mayor: entre  setiembre 2007 y el mismo mes de 2008 el número de visitantes  ascendió a un 39%.

      El título Google descendió hoy en Wall Street 2,44%  y se cotizó en 311 dólares luego de que Goldman Sachs bajara sus  estimaciones de venta, reduciéndolas del 4%  a un 1%.
