Científicos de Austria recientemente publicaron un trabajo sobre la denominada fuerza de van der Waals, responsable de mantener unidas determinadas sustancias químicas a superficies metálicas. Este estudio revela que varios modelos para la interacción entre películas orgánicas y finas capas metálicas en las que se colocan deben ser revisados. Dentro de las aplicaciones se encuentra la fabricación de semiconductores orgánicos, mucho más flexibles que los actuales inorgánicos.
